Steve Monro

Founder & Operator, Blue Tomato Media

Blue Tomato Media is operated from South Gippsland in Victoria, Australia. With over two decades of hands-on experience in radio broadcasting at various levels across the industry, Steve brings a wealth of practical knowledge to every project.

Broadcasting & Technical Background

With over two decades in radio broadcasting, Steve has worked across all aspects of production—from remote outback operations and community radio to managing content distribution across 700+ broadcast sites using multiple technologies (LPON, AM, FM, DAB+, satellite). His experience spans production roles, on-air, programming, talent development, and national syndication, while also building deep technical expertise in professional broadcast software (RCS suite, Station Playlist, Adobe Creative Suite) and custom software design. This combination of field experience and technical knowledge directly informed ProdTracker's design—a tool built by someone who understands both the production side and the technology side of managing complex, distributed operations.

Building ProdTracker

With years of experience in broadcast operations, Steve recognized a critical gap in the market: production teams needed a simple, reliable tool to manage recurring tasks without expensive enterprise software or complex setups.

ProdTracker was built to solve real problems when co-ordinating network programming with hundreds of stations, and distributed teams across time zones, with recurring programming. The solution had to be:
